About this tool

The checker uses deterministic local heuristics — plain string and regex rules — to score twelve dimensions of a prompt. It does not read your codebase and does not use an AI service. Your prompt never leaves your browser.

What makes a good Lovable prompt?
A clear objective, a named target file or route, current vs expected behavior for bugs, ‘Done when …’ acceptance criteria, and a note on what must not change. The Preflight Checker scores prompts against those dimensions.
How can a clearer prompt reduce rework?
Most retries come from vague scope or missing acceptance criteria — the AI ships something that technically matches the words but not the intent. Naming the file, describing the expected end state, and stating what must not change removes most of that ambiguity.
Should several changes be combined into one prompt?
Only when they are small, localized to the same component, and share one acceptance test — for example a couple of copy tweaks on the same page. Unrelated features, or anything that touches auth, database, payments, or APIs, should be split.
When should I use Plan mode instead of Build mode?
Use Plan mode for investigation, architecture decisions, and complicated debugging — anywhere you cannot yet name the exact change. Use Build once the change is scoped. Plan mode is not free; treat it like a small paid step, not an unlimited chat.
What should a debugging prompt include?
The exact symptom, current vs expected behavior, reproduction steps, the exact error message or log, the last known working state, and a request to investigate before changing code. The checker flags each of these.
Is pasted prompt content stored?
No. Analysis runs entirely in your browser. Your prompt, structured context, and rewritten prompt are never uploaded, saved to storage, or included in analytics.
